Kanye West, whose performance at the Bonnaroo Music Festival was harshly criticized for starting way late, unleashed himself in a raging post on his official blog.
Once again, the rapper is furious with the bad reviews that followed his delayed appearance at Bonnaroo, where the audience was so angered by his delayed set, they pelted the stage with bottles and trash, eventually chanting "Kanye sucks!"
"I am sick of negative people who just sit around trying 2 plot my downfall," a clearly unhappy West wrote. "Why???? I understand if people don't like me because I like me or if people think tight clothes look gay or people say I run my mouth to much. But this Bonnaroo thing is the worst insult I've ever had in my life. This is the most offended I've ever been ... this is the maddest I ever will be."
Explaining the reasons for the delay, the rapper complained about the poor organization of the event, calling the festival promoters "idiots."
West's performance at the festival was scheduled for 2:45 in the early morning of June 15 but he took the stage two hours later due to technical problems with disabling the set for Pearl Jam, who'd gone on right before and played an hour late. Also, setting Kanye's elaborate backdrop took longer than necessary.
"Bonnarroo should have released a statement in my defense, but since they haven't, let's break down the walls on this 'Truman Show' and let you know what really occurred. For over a month, we went back and forth on whether or not we could even fit my stage at the festival. One day, they would say 'Yes,' we'd send them our specs, then they'd say 'OK,' then they would send specs back that didn't fit the stage. We were obviously dealing with f---ing idiots who didn't really have the capacity to really put on this show properly," he explained.
In the end, the rapper apologized for not having the ability to give the performance he wanted to and once again underlined his commitment to all his performances.
